Roger Mody is the former Chairman & CEO of SIGNAL Corporation, a leading information technology services company headquartered in Fairfax, VA. Over its 15-year history, SIGNAL developed a strong track record of success, marked by impressive financial performance and quality work for its customers. SIGNAL achieved ISO 9001 certification for delivering quality service to its customers and achieved revenue of $300 million in 2001, with 2200 employees working in 60 offices throughout the nation. This growth was accomplished through Mody’s strategy of growing the company’s business organically rather than through mergers and acquisitions. In September 2002, Mody sold the company in an all cash transaction to General Dynamics (NYSE:GD) for $227 million.
Mody and SIGNAL were the recipients of more than 40 industry and growth awards over the years including: 1995 KPMG Peat Marwick High Technology Entrepreneur, 1997 Ernst and Young High Technology Entrepreneur of the Year, Washington Technology Fast 50, Arthur Andersen’s 1999 Best Practices Award for Exceeding Customer Expectations, Deloitte & Touche Fast 500, and Inc. 500, among others. Mody is an associate publisher to Inc. Magazine and has been featured on CNN.
Mody is now founder and chairman of The Mody Foundation, whose goal is to help provide higher education funding for underprivileged children.
In addition to his work at the Mody Foundation, Mody has been actively involved in the Washington, D.C. area philanthropic community with participation in organizations including: Make-A-Wish Foundation, Easter Seals, Volunteer Emergency Families for Children, Joe Gibbs’ Youth for Tomorrow, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology Intern Program, NVTC Dan Bannister Scholarship Fund, Alexandria Rising Stars Basketball program, and the Good Samaritan Foundation. Mody is a Charter Member of the Washington Redskins Leadership Council. Mody is also on the Board of Directors for Fight for Children and served as Chairman of the 2003 Fight Night, which raised $2.M, a record amount of money for the Fight for Children organization. In June 2004, Mody was appointed to the Greater Washington Board of Trade Sports Alliance.
Mody is a native of the Washington DC metropolitan area, who is married and the father of four children.
